Breastfeeding when you go back to work?

I'm expecting my first in 6 weeks (hopefully a little less!) and am wondering about breastfeeding, pumping, and going back to work. If all goes well, I plan to breastfeed exclusively during the first 3 months while I am home with her. I purchased a breastpump but realistically, will have no time in my work day to use it. Do you think it would be workable to pump and freeze a good supply I'm off work, and then pump in the evenings as well once I return to work so that the baby can continue to have at least some breastmilk? I'm confused about how the timing will work out since I've heard it only "lets down" at certain times of day when you feed or pump regularly. What has been your experience, and do you have any tips with transitioning back to work without completely switching to formula? Thanks so much!

I am currently exclusively breastfeeding my 5 and a half month old and have been back to work since he was 3 months old.

From what I can read by your question it seems as though you will not pump at all in your work day? I dont know how well this will go for you, I currently pump twice, once at 9:30 and once at 2:30 and I pump when I get home right before feeding him , I am blessed with an abundant milk supply and haven't had any supply issues, but I have heard of other women having to pump every 2-3 hours while they are away from their baby to maintain their supply.

Depends I suppose how long you will be at work for in a day.

I pumped before feeding my son the first 3 months that I was off work with him, as the baby is more efficient at getting the milk out than the pump, this way I had a very large supply (and a large amount stored) when I started back to work, which eased the stress of worrying that I wouldn't have enough for him.
(relaxing helps you pump while you are away from the baby)

I would think that if you didnt pump the whole day when you were away from your baby, that your breasts would be very sore and engorged by the end of your workday, and the lack of emptying the breasts in the day may cause your supply to lessen over time.
